It was a day in may 2003 when three enthusiastic people met somewhere in a room in the north-west of Leipzig. The idea was simply to make music. Inspiration came from the early 80´s Postpunk- and Wavebands. First songs were written from which the very first one ended on the debut-EP three years later. The first gigs were played in 2004 but several line-up changes made it hard to work steady on new songs. Finally Daniel changed the guitar into the bass and MONOZID were ready to play gigs and to start recording first songs. Now MONOZID is:

In 2006 several concerts were played with bands like CHARLES DE GOAL, FLIEHENDE STÜRME, CASUAL, THE VERY JOB AGENCY, SWANN DANGER, DON VITO, THE COLD, ZADERA or DER RAKETENHUND. In the same year the band was invited to play at festivals like Undercover Of Darkness (Münster), Trashcave-Festival (Berlin) and Burgnächte in Roßlau sharing stage with EVA O, CLAN OF XYMOX or ALL GONE DEAD. In 2006 the debut CD-EP "erstens" saw the light of day, getting positive feedback from german magazines like Zillo, Ox, or Trust and Cold (Poland), Ascension (Italy), Elegy (Spain). MONOZID also contributed songs to compilations by Strobelight Records (New Dark Age 4, Gospels from your stereo) as well as german magazines Gothic and Transmission. In autumn Ralf joined on the second guitar and with the change of personal interests new influences from Post- and Noiserock as well as from other Indie-styles coloured the typical MONOZID-sound. 2007 the second CD-EP "waiting fort the circus" was released followed by gigs in Spain, France, Switzerland and an appearance at the underground festival in Timisoara/Romania.
